About Balaranya

Here is a Garden of Eden distained not exactly for Adam and Eve - but their beloved kids. In the concrete Jungle, where skyscrapers cover the whole skyline, a little green creeper woven around your window is more luxurious than any of your hi-tech possessions. A song of a cuckoo, a rugged bark of tree, a dew drop on rose petal - all have almost disappeared not only from our vision but also from our dreams. We have come too far from the abode of nature. Our kids marvel at the simplest gifts of nature when they move out of the concrete jungle. Everything - right from running a bullock cart to growing paddy - is strange to them though India lives in villages - our children in urban India are alien to rural India.

To acquaint them with the rural paradise lost and to make them live in the lap of nature BALARANYA, an Eco-Kids Nature Camp was conceived two years ago. Here the marvels of nature are re-enacted for children. Flora and fauna are recreated. Noah's Arc is rebuilt for preserving most of the beautiful animals and birds which we usually find only in thickly vegetated villages. In a nut shell, children are introduced to nature in its un-spoilt form. Here the kid finds how water gives life to plant. No one needs to tell him there it is called irrigation. The whole story of cultivation that lies behind every morsel of food we eat is virtually exhibited here.
